Inglis Equine Art Prize Exhibition

       INGLIS EQUINE ART PRIZE 

The inaugural Inglis Equine Art Prize exhibition is opening in Sydney on the 12/13/14th August at the Inglis Newmarket 'Big Stables' 1 Young Street, Randwick daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission is free.

All artworks are for sale and many are highly collectable pieces depicting some of the world's best thoroughbreds.

Further exhibitions are in Melbourne at the Inglis Oaklands Function Room on 18/19th August.

Then Moonee Valley Race Club Silks Room during the races on 20th August.

Then Scone Arts and Crafts, Kingdon Street, Scone on 26/27/28th August.

INGLIS EQUINE ART PRIZE FINALISTS

Finalists have been selected for the prestigious inaugural Inglis Equine Art Prize.
A field of 30 artists, including 25 from Australia, 2 from Canada, 1 each from the USA, Germany and New Zealand are exhibiting 34 artworks to be judged by Mr Ross Harvey, Mr Alan Bell and Mr Arthur Inglis. The winner receives $15,000 as first prizemoney.

The 2011 theme is 'Life at the Stud'. Included are depictions of some of the worlds greatest horseflesh, with stallions such as High Chaparral, Fusaichi Pegasus, Encosta De Lago, Not A Single Doubt, Danewin and Intergaze among those chosen.

THE EXHIBITION VENUES

The Inglis Equine Art Prize will be exhibited at the Inglis Newmarket 'Big Stables' at 1 Young Street, Randwick in Sydney daily 10am to 5pm from the 12th to 14th August.

Then the Inglis Oaklands Function Room near Melbourne daily 10am to 5pm from the 18th to 19th August.

Then the Moonee Valley Race Club Silks Room during the races on the afternoon of the 20th August.

Then the Scone Arts and Crafts Centre in Kingdon Street, Scone daily 10am to 5pm from the 26th to 28th August in Australia during 2011.

So, final acceptances are in. The stalls are being loaded. This Group 1 art event is about to be run and won. Should be a photo finish!

INGLIS EQUINE ART PRIZE 

Entry closes 4th July.
 
Theme for 2011 is 'Life at the Stud'. Entrants are required to
depict a thoroughbred horse or horses eligible to race in any
country, at a stud in any country where breeding takes place.

Judging at the Inglis Newmarket Complex at Randwick
 in Sydney, Australia on 11th August and opens
to the public 12th to 14th August.
 
Further exhibitions at the Inglis Oaklands Complex outside
Melbourne 18th to 21st August and then the
Scone Arts Society 25th to 28th August.

Peter Smeeth recently won the Sulman Prize conducted by the
NSW Gallery.
 
Evert Ploeg has won 'Best of Show' at the prestigious Portrait
Society of America's International 2011.
